Interviews for devs

Hi. I'm Sean ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Most developers see interviews as an unfortunate, sometimes dreadful step in their career, but I view them differently.

I see interviews as a fruitful (and sometimes enjoyable!) part of the journey.

Over the years, I've encountered other developers who were clearly miserable in their current role and I'd ask...why don't you start interviewing?

Ugh, I don't want to deal with interviews.

๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿป That's a common response and an understandable one.

After all, so many aspects of interviewing are stressful:

  • It's a lot of work.
  • You are under a microscope.
  • Somebody is going to make you feel inadequate.

Hard work...constantly evaluated...and I feel bad about myself by the end?

"Sign me up!"...said nobody.

I've experienced this discouragement through many, many interviews in my career. I couldn't take it emotionally, so with some help from others, I designed a new approach to interviewing that helps me grow as a developer and enjoy the process.

That's why I created this FREE email course.

I made this course in the form of a 6-day experience to help you go from dreading interviews to embracing them (and maybe even enjoying them! ๐ŸŽ‰).

Confident tech interviews in six days

Whether you're about to start your job search or are a few interviews deep, this course is for you.

The 6-day email course is designed to focus on just one topic each day. I'm not here to overload you with information all at once, you've had enough of that. Relax, follow along, and starting seeing interviews in a new light.

Here's a preview of a few things we'll cover:

  • Redesign your goals so you can get something out of every interview (even if you don't get an offer)
  • Prepare without burning yourself out with puzzles
  • Stand out in take-home coding challenges by understanding the reasons and design behind take-home projects
  • Stop fearing whiteboard interviews (and start hoping for them)

My name is Sean (@seanconnollydev) and I've been in software development for almost 15 years. In my career I've worn many hats: developer intern all the way to senior architect with a few years of project management and engineering management in between.

I've experienced interviews from many different perspectives as both candidate and interviewer from a $1B e-commerce giant to the tiniest of startups. Over my career, I've designed interviews, administered hundreds of interviews, taught other developers how to administer interviews, and coached other developers as they prepare for their own interviews.

I love sharing my knowledge with others, especially when it comes to their journeys as software developers.
